I always wanted to post these updates with Anderson, and now that I have a blog I better hop to it if I want to document Baby B #2 (I really need to come up with a better nick name).
How far along? 16 weeks
Total weight gain: 4 pounds
Size of baby: Avocado according to Baby Center.
Milestones (What the BabyCenter says:):
Get ready for a growth spurt. In the next few weeks, your baby will double his weight and add inches to his length. Right now, he's about the size of an avocado: 4 1/2 inches long (head to rump) and 3 1/2 ounces. His legs are much more developed, his head is more erect than it has been, and his eyes have moved closer to the front of his head. His ears are close to their final position, too. The patterning of his scalp has begun, though his locks aren't recognizable yet. He's even started growing toenails. And there's a lot happening inside as well. For example, his heart is now pumping about 25 quarts of blood each day, and this amount will continue to increase as your baby continues to develop.
Maternity clothes? Not Yet.
Food cravings or aversions: None. (Earlier in the pregnancy I craved chocolate milk). I never craved anything different with Anderson.
Sleep: Been bad lately. I have been having weird dreams and I wake up so frequently to pee. Sunday night I slept well, I hope this pattern is changing. I am using a pillow to prop me up because of my stuffy nose (which has been bad since last week).
Symptoms: Bloating, aches and pains in the belly area, fatigue (to the point of falling a slept instantly)
Gender: No idea yet. Today I was thinking girl, but no strong feeling either way. Still not sure if I want to find out.
What I'm looking forward to the most: A health anatomy scan in February.
What I'm looking forward to the most: A health anatomy scan in February.
Worries: How this will effect Anderson, how do I better prepare him? I would like to stabilize my sugar readings (especially in the am fasting).
What is different this time around: Well, I was freaking out about my diabetes and having to take insulin last time. I am still worried about that, but not as much as last time (because I have already gone through it). I'm also feeling a lot more pain in the belly area.
Miss Anything? A drink during the game yesterday, but other than that, nothing.
Movement: None yet. Thought I felt something like a flutter last week (Friday (January 20) but I haven’t felt it since.
Labor Signs: Nothing. Part of me thinks the severe pain I was feeling over the weekend was Braxton Hicks.
Looking forward to: Feeling some baby movement!
Best moment of the week: Buying Anderson “I’m a big Brother” book!
